My uncle had written cut versus Clipped Planchet on this coin holder. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Not a real incomplete planchet. It was altered. Note on the clipped area, you can see where the reeds were. Now missing. Both areas in question show damaged reeds on the edge. Again another clue that someone was trying to create an error.

Perhaps your uncle kept it so he could refer to it later.

He had it marked correctly.

False error, as they euphemistically call them.

I agree with the others, just damage.
