Just got a copy as a gift from a fellow collector who found it at the second hand store. He thought of me and grabbed it. This fits a spot I never even knew was open. 1967 is a special year for me and it fits great. I will get the time to browse it soon I hope. Nice!! I have a Charlton Catalogue from my birth year (1970) tucked away in a bin with other coins from that year... it is always fun to see the prices of coins back then... if only I had a DeLorean and a flux capacitor...

Won't be able to sleep until I give it the once over. This is my birth year as well. It floored me when he gave it to me. Fits my 67's collection to a T. I will get some pictures for you guys as soon as I talk my son into doing it for me (teach me).(Again) SPP-Ottawa- I wonder how many names from the contributors page you may know. (this will be a pic.) At first glance-front cover is worn in all the bad spots. Can't see the lettering very well on half of the 4th to 8th line. On the other hand , you can see the rest of those lines. All corners are dinged. No other damage. (water, etc.) 61 pages of tokens, etc. before it even gets to Canadian coins. Newfoundland coins start on page 91. That's 30 pages of Canadian coins. What a difference from the ones these days. This is from before the NCLT coins came out, for sure.

My oldest Charlton. Still looking for the first edition at a reasonable price. Very fragile so I won't be taking any pics of the contents, but a 1948 dollar was priced less than either a 1945 or a 1947 pointed. They were $5, $6, and $7 respectively for UNC.

I love that DBM ... I was collecting coins about then, but only pennies and nickels from the paper route.

I guess it would be safe to assume that back in the earlier years, Charlton did not issue a catalogue every year. I have a 1977 Charlton that is only the 17th edition.

The Coin Guide is MUCH different than the Standard Catalogue. You are confusing the buying guide with the reference catalogue. Catalogue was pretty much issued every year from 1952 on.

Thanks Pacificoin- That makes sense. Didn't know there were two different issues.

I have a 1970 Charlton 18th edition, 1969 Red Book 22nd US, 1st edition 1959-1960 Canadian Numismatic Publishing Institute. Guide Book of Canadian Coins, Currency & Tokens from 1700-1958 These were my first books from my early collecting coins days. Also most of my Dansco and Whitman albums go to the late 50`s. Lot of old memories.

Here's the Charlton from my birth year; the '67, if I recall, looks the same.
