Picked this up from my LCS. My first Trade dollar! I have no idea how to grade these. I paid $100. My LCS mainly deals in bullion and he didn't know much either. Said I could return if I wanted so I thought I would give it a shot and get some help with it. What is the grade? Did I do ok on this purchase? From the research I have done it is not a counterfeit. I wanted something descent for my type set without breaking the bank. I want to be able to get most of my money out of if I decide to upgrade later. Thank you for any help.

I agree. From the pictures it does look cleaned and wouldn't be market acceptable. For $100 it's not so bad, I guess. Congrats on the !

May have bickered a bit on price. Nice original skin can be had for $20 more. Would have offered $80, the cleaning wasn't done well in a conservatory way and has ruined it for future, won't color ot nicely now. But as said, your collection, I too am a cheaper coin buyer that will pick up a bargain like that, my current resident is a nice Chinese faker!

Extra Fine, details, cleaned.

Not a terrible price. I still recommend saving longer, buying fewer coins, and get examples you will never need to upgrade.

Thanks for the help. Looking at pricesof xf details, I think I will be fine if I decide to upgrade.

The coin is not unattractive and was well bought for the price, perhaps even a bargain. I'd like to find the guy selling problem-free XF Trade dollars for $120, though.

Rinse it in acetone to remove any residual gunk on the coin, and then let it sit somewhere, and it might even retone.
