Coin in hand, I've got it at AU-53. I don't think it's been cleaned. Thanks.

It must be a coincidence, because I have a 1900-S Morgan dollar that looks exactly like that, and it's definitely cleaned. If you ask me, it looks like it has been dipped for too long.

Why not mention that in your first response? Sorry but I don't know how to state that without sounding snarky.

I have no emotional ties to this coin. I recently bought it simply because the price seemed too good to pass up (under $30). I don't think it's been cleaned but I've been wrong before... What I find interesting here is that the power of suggestion seems to be at work. First seven responses: no suggestion that the coin had been cleaned. Then, once mentioned, the bandwagon fills quickly...

I did type that it was cleaned in my original response. I must have accidentally deleted it. The coin is obviously cleaned.

The power of suggestion is not at work here. I am almost 100% sure that it has been dipped at some point. I have no idea why the first couple of members who replied didn't notice it.

In hand you will be a better judge than any of us trying to assess it from pics.

It happens often.

AU-53, and I agree with it looking over-dipped.
