I picked up a nice Barber half dollar at the ANA in Denver last month and wanted to see what the CCF members had to say about her. Granted, she is presently in a NGC holder and I wanting to cross her to PCGS. If you feel so inclined, would you please give your opinions on the present holder and what do you think PCGS would grade as. Thank you for your interest and comments!

That is one beautiful coin. Toned examples are a grading problem for me..do I see some rub under the toning?,probably not. maybe MS-62...I will probably get a grading lesson here! and don't mind at all...Love the coin!

au58. would expect better luster even with the toning in an ms coin. beautiful nevertheless.

 Some light wear on the eagle's feathers. Can't really see any mint luster under the toning or it may just be the lighting in the picture.

Love the toning . The only issue I see with this coin is that distracting scratch across shield . MS-64 .

I'm typically not a fan of Barber coinage at all. However, this one is making me change my mind. I'm no expert on this series but I feel like it has to be MS-something. Beautiful toning and nice half!

NGC graded her as MS61. I see a slight cheek rub in addition to the eagles neck, below the shield and the wing leading edge for wear and hopefully will garner an AU58, maybe even a plus (+) from PCGS when I cross it. If it comes back MS...I'll sell it.

I would tolerate the gouge across the shield to own that color.  The gouge is the reason I agree with your opinion that AU58 is the "real" ceiling for this coin.
