Hey all. I have a nice Red 72 with Rim Cuds that look a lot like the FS 104. I am not expert but I think I can see a little doubling on the devices but I am not sure. Maybe this is a very late Die State and the doubling is more mushy and less clear. Would love any opinions. Thank You!

Sorry, but it is not a Doubled Die. I don't see the doubling at all. It's just a normal 1972 P LMC with Rim Cuds.

I had a feeling, this one is soo hard to see even with a 10X's. I was hopeful because the rims looked so much like some of the fs 104's I ve seen slabbed by the TPG's.

The rim Cuds are not a match.

The rule for hub doubling it that the variety must be found first, then markers second.

You need to find the doubled die first and then match the die markers, not the other way around. I know there is/has been a few members that try and do it the other way around.

The only time to do the opposite is when you find a die variety in an OBW roll. (Original-Bank-Wrapped) After you see it is a doubled die, then you look for the markers first so you can set them aside in a stack to tube or put in 2X2's. I've found as many as 19 in a OBW roll to only one in a OBW roll. In one roll I found 33 die pairs in a single rolls. None of them were varieties in that roll, but that is the only time I reverse the procedure.
