PNC King go to Downies.com and type in Liberia for a search. I purchased two more of the Titanic Expedition coins today for friends. They have a far better photo than I can do right now and I am sure that will be quicker for you! Let me know what you think of it!

I have a Titanic commemorative coin somewhere, but not from Liberia. From memory, I think it is from Somalia, will post a scan of it if I can find it...[:p]

PNC King I bought two of the silvers but really would like to add the gold as well. I like the silver due to its size and have ordered two more for friends. Just the thought of that tiny chunck of coal being recovered and embedded in this coin amazes me. I can now hold a REAL piece of Titanic history!!! Something great to pass on to my little guy!

Also I might point out the mintage differences between the gold and silver! Only 5,000 silvers struck and I like small mintages! Did you check out the Liberia 50MM silver "Tiffany Glass" being offered? Outstanding design and, after NOT buying last years, I have went ahead and ordered this one! Don't ask me why, other than the fact only 999 were struck, it is just a very very unique coin!

the gold mintage terry is certainly a lot bigger than the silver one , so I think you did the right thing getting the silver ones first and then get the gold one later

We never see limited mintages over here as the United States Mint trys to control the secondary market not realizing they are killing there own market at the same time. A limited issue over here will be 25,000 to 50,000 coins or sets. They do it on purpose out of greed and hoping most of their items will never do much on the secondary market. Other nations, who limit issues, usually have a sell out and the secondary market explodes with interest and prices go right along with it. This is the reason, along with the internet, many Americans are turning to world wide collecting. The market is wide open so to speak, thanks to the internet, and buying, selling and trading from the comfort of your own home is an unbelievable opportunity most of us did not have 15 years ago. The internet has changed coin collecting in this country and it appears it has awakened a sleeping giant as more and more collectors are finally crossing borders in search of coins they never dreamed of owning. Now its all possible and the word is spreading quickly and the more experienced American collectors will seek out those limited editions which will further enhance your tight markets and availabilities of many coins. I think we will see very good secondary markets with prices rising to new unheard of levels on many coins. The only problem with all of this is getting the coins as soon as they are released or you will be facing that NEW secondary market we have all created! One will have to stay on top of the Coin World and know release dates and somehow, someway, be there to grab one! After that it will be "Katy bar the doors" when it comes to prices!

Boy you Aussies have done it now!!! My wife took right to my new 2006 Australian silver Kangaroo and I'll be darned if she hasn't bought all of them except the 2005 in ONE DAY!!! NOW she is HOOKED on Aussie coins! I managed to buy the 2002 tri-metallic Commonwealth Games today and with her splurging on Aussie Roos we dropped quite a chunk into coins from Down Under! Looks like you have 2 new permanent collectors!

Ummm

Bet she didn't get the 1993, 1994 and 1995 Coin Fair issues or the 1998, 1999 or 2000 Proofs.

They all are pretty hard to find, especially the 1998 proof as for some reason a lot have been damaged.

Send them on over and I will have a look? Quite honestly I really don't want her to know about the Coin Fairs!!! Do love the Aussie coins though and really glad to have them in my (our) collections.
