Foxwoods, I'm wondering if there is more than one variety of this error. This one on ebay does not look to have the raised areas frosted. Or perhaps the die state changed pretty dramatically.

It will be interesting to see how many there end up being. Regardless, congratulations on the one you received.

I got one with my original order of 10. Pic posted in this thread on the 13th

Congrats! Must have skimmed right past that page.

It's going to be really interesting to see how many turn up and what type of value they generate.

The one on ebay is very questionable. Just about every pic of the "error" half is waaaay too dark to tell anything and the one pic that is decent doesn't show much difference at all....probably all lighting issues but I wouldn't pay extra for what I see there

Maybe they should have done separate pics of both coins.

I would just say if anyone is interested in the errors on the after market, buy them graded. Finishes can be messed with which some of these listings will absolutely be

I agree that ebay posting is suspect. Essentially just looks like pics of a regular RP taken, or edited, in lowlight. The posting does say you'll be getting two coins so you can see the difference so at least it has that going for it. Maybe the winning bidder will be a CCF member and they'll post better pics for us to see.

Usually that is the safe route BUT none of the TPG's have decided to attribute this variety/error.....yet

NGC Early release cut off date is tomorrow (have to be there by then)...so at LEAST the last 9-10k, probably more, won't be eligible.

The only reason that I can think of for the last big order was to look for the variety/error half...could be a bunch of late returns if that is the case

Well, I'd say that 200k was the right limit for this set. Everyone who wanted one had plenty of time to get one and the market price will likely not slide due to the set not having excess production.

Yeah, I think 200k was appropriate, but I would have like to have seen 150k.
