A couple of things....

1) I snagged two more sets from the Mint on Monday...shipped out yesterday. Nice...

2) I have been low balling some NGC PF69's and raw "Light Finish" coins and grabbed a decent quantity raw and a few slabbed. Prices seem to have gone up so my low balling isn't working too well right now

I picked up my first NGC attributed slabs after vacation on Monday and when I looked at the first one I was convinced they made an error 'cuz it looked like a normal RP..then I opened the next one...same thing

Remember the slab pic link I posted a bit ago and comments were that it wasn't that different? Well these look like that and nothing like the raw one I got from the Mint....

..or is it the angle of the light..am I too critical ....or am I just losing it?

I DEFINITELY have to go back and check my raw sets again...

I did receive some raw light finish coins that I purchased and they DO look like those in the slabs...

...and I thought I had this down pat...

Foxwoods, I don't think you're losing it. I was watching a show on TV last night where the guy was selling these in NGC slabs. The label indicated light finish, but it looked just like a regular reverse proof Kennedy to me. I think they're designating coins as having a light finish when they shouldn't be given such a designation. This may be a thing where there were multiple improperly finished dies, but some were done more correctly than others. It also may be a die state issue. Regardless, I don't think the grading services have it right.

When an item goes to "Currently Unavailable" status it just means that all presently available stock has been ordered.

Included in these orders are some items that will not be shipped because of a few reasons with the most common being credit card issues...sometimes, with items with a HH limit, duplicate account address orders that will be cancelled.

Depending on who you ask, returns might or might not be a part of newly available stock. The Mint denies this but who knows.

Almost always there will be stock available eventually because of the above. The 2018 Platinum proof sold out in four minutes but has been available on and off for a couple of weeks

Anyway...too many words above but it comes down to: try at 0730..not 0731 or 0732...0730. If they are going to be available they will be available at that time...goes for ALL products. This was the first day this week they were available and might be the last but...who knows

Well all my orders from a couple of weeks ago have been delivered. Decent sets with no visible issues AND 4 of the 6 sets have the light finish variety half...

Gonna get a bunch of these halves graded at NGC...no big cash output ($16/each) and decent return once they are attributed..

I should add that I have seen zero available for quite some time...probably on the cusp of going to sold out status

Doesn't NGC require the error fee as well? Was pretty sure they did

That was my original thought also but:

Quote:
You can submit the coins under our Modern Tier Of Service for $16 per coin as long you are comfortable with the max insurance value of $2000 per coin. There is no charge for the light finish. There is an $8 handling fee plus the return shipping and insurance cost.

Perfect...now I won't be mad at myself for remembering to check 0730a availability at 0800a....

Edit:

..also..from another forum regarding raw sets

Quote:
I think MANY sets were broken up because of the light finish halves so complete sets SHOULD sell at a premium....

Weird completed sale prices...same day (yesterday) $139.95, $110, $97, $145, $156, $138, $118, $149, $139, $129

All but one ($110) were BIN's

I've got 15 light finish halves in transit back from NGC. I should have them on Monday...I only sent in the "perfect" ones so I would assume one 70
