My wife brought home a 1925 Buffalo nickel today - from the till at the local bakery where she works. Some well-meaning numismatist out there most likely!

My first dime box in 2014 yielded a 1902 Barber in EF, and last silvers were 2 Roosies in early 2016, and is the same with any Buffalos, early 2016 is last I've pulled CRHing. The MOST classic coin found in circulation was in approx. 1963, at the soda counter of Woolworth's 5 and Dime, Glen Ellyn, IL I received an XF 1937D three-leg in change. I've previously told the story of why it "disappeared"!

About 3 years ago I found a dateless Indian Head five cent piece. I don't have much luck with circulation finds , but I do save all pre 1959 cents and all pre 1960 five cent pieces. I also received a 1908 Barber dime in change from a convenience store back in the early 2000's (cant remember the exact year.) Besides that however, in over 20 years of keeping an eye open for them I've not received any other silver coins in change.

My first Buffalo Nickel(1937) was found in the register at work around a year or so ago.Dont know if it came from a customer or from a bank roll.

This happens all the time. Last month a 1936-S dime popped out of the change machine at the grocery store. My favorite bank teller sets aside wierd change and currency for me since I ask for it every time I go to the bank. In the past ten years I've gotten at face value half a roll of mixed Morgan and Peace dollars, walking liberty and Franklin halves, a roll of silver Kennedy halves,, and assorted Mercury dimes, Buffalo nickels, and best of all currency with other than green seals. United States Notes, Silver Certificates, and a North African note with yellow seal, all at face value have turned up. This is why I don't have an ATM card. Consider how you might brighten the day for your local bank tellers and they may make your visit to the bank one to remember.

Today! I was rather mindlessly glancing at a handful of change before dumping it in the bucket, and this appeared. I think it came, as the coin upthread, from Arby's a few days ago, but I'm not sure. Oldest coin I've pulled from circulation in a long, long, time, probably decades. It's a little scruffy, but date is easily readable, and the reverse is quite a bit nicer. Pretty exciting, even if it's worth, what, about seven cents? It always makes me curious to know if it's been floating around for 99 years, or more recently got dumped from a jar or dispersed from an unwanted collection.
