does anyone know if this is an actual error, or just something that happened during circulation? referring to the blur/bloch at the bottom of the first 4 in the date

PMD ... see where something hit the 2nd 4 and move metal to make a divot? The metal that was moved then wore away during circulation.

There might be a slight bit of mechanical/machine doubling on the 4s, but it's also quite worn. Could also be worn dies - everything migrates towards the rim with overuse (die wear).
