Recently purchased Temple of Music vulcanite Encased Cent from the 1901 Pan American Exposition. It was at the Temple of Music where President William Mckinley was assasinated. There is more information on the vulcanite Encased Cents from the expo here:

I've been looking for an interesting but not terribly expensive collecting challenge and I have decided to put together a 50 state collection of encased Indian cents focusing on more obscure business types. I'm not sure this is even possible to complete since there were only 46 states in 1909 when the Lincoln Cent took over. It will be interesting to see if I can find examples from the territories at the time. Here is my first piece from Illinois.
