I preferred people give me direct answers than writing long paragraphs with the same meaning, if I do need further explanation I will ask another question follow with more Q & A. It doesn't bother me if I get responses with just a grade or a short yes or no, because let's move on from here.

This [feeling like an idiot] should never happen. If it does, just click on the link on the bottom right of each post that says (Report this Post to the Staff).

There are times when I can feel like an idiot because I, writing in good faith, made an honest mistake and someone corrected me politely. That shouldn't warrant a report to the Staff. If they made me feel like an idiot for missing the point by, for example, posting only an image with a filename like "numbskull" (you know who you are), that seems more actionable.

Like some others in this thread, I post less than I used to -- partly because I really don't know as much as I want (I've been corrected enough times, thank you) and I can learn plenty by just reading. Other posters often express what I'm thinking so much more clearly, and it's not really worth it to me to just post "I agree".

If I'm reasonably confident and relevant with my contribution, and I'm not overly repeating someone else, I'll post. Otherwise, I'll just observe and learn what I can.

I know who you are referring to. This particular member is known for this.

I try not to do this. I usually just politely correct the member.

That particular member is on very thin ice right now.

Interesting discussion. I'm fairly new here, and I find this to be a friendly forum, with lots of folks who are eager to help people learn more about the hobby. That said, a key point is made above by paralyze, in that it's very different to post a picture in the grading forum, where you want unvarnished reactions, versus "look at my new coin," where I would say if you can't say something nice, then just hold back, or at least be very tactful in making suggestions.
