It has been a long time, probably not since I quit CRH in the late 1990s. The only one I clearly remember is the 1911 Barber dime I found because it is the one in my 7070.

Early last year I got a very worn Standing liberty, later a 1950's silver Roosevelt. In 2016 I flipped out when I found a pretty decent 1908 Indian Head in my pocket change. I hurried to the kitchen to show my wife who looked at me and said, 'Boy, you look pretty happy.' haha

You definition of "classic coin design" differs from mine. I was thinking 19th century. At least the IHC's could fit my definition.

I consider the IHCS, V-Nickels, Morgans, all of the Barber coinage, and anything previous to that 'classic'. That being said, I found two IHC's last year. The first was an AU 1903 in a $50 bag. the second, was an 1889 I had found in a roll.

I found a 1943 Mercury dime back in November or so, I was stoked because it was around xf condition.

I found an 1886 IHC in change a few months ago--first one ever after 40+ years of checking my change every day. I remember finding Mercury dimes in change as a kid, maybe two or three times. But none since then.

On two occasions in the last 3 years I found Mercury dimes in Coinstar reject slots. Although it's not exactly a classic coin, I got a silver War Nickel from the self-serve machine at Home Depot.

I will occasionally spend an IHC, Buffalo or V-Nickle just for fun... but my sweet hubs brought me home a beautiful AU Mercury dime from the register where he works a couple years back. They opened a new roll of dimes and it stood out like a sore thumb.

I found a nice 1963 Washington quarter about 2 years ago. I placed it it a cardboard slab for good luck (yea, I made $2.75).

I received a nice common date Buffalo nickel in change from the Hardees drive through a few years ago. That was the last time I received anything back in change worth anything.
