If the signature is not printed then it can easily be forged.

For me the artist signature on the COA is like signature of the artist on the painting.
While British Museum or Louvre or other famous place keep the signed paintings, the private collectors have not-signed, which valuable less...

Agreed, Silveroid.

You just have to look on ebay to see that we're not the only ones who prefer the signed COA. Collectors are paying more for them because they consider them to be more valuable.

Only MC members had access to these.

Sure if the painting is signed by Picasso. Not so much if it's signed by....Bob Jones.

With all due respect, Richard Comely is not Stan Lee or even Suzanna Blunt so I don't see the attraction, notwithstanding any premium some ebay buyers may be willing to pay.

Then again, I'll never understand why someone paid 6600 USD for #20,000 of the 2012 special wrapped roll of pennies.

And of course many Picasso paintings are unsigned but still very collectible.

CC-Ottawa, what you says is truth...

The Captain Canuck, similar to his creator aren't very famous. But still, for the people who like this character, the signature will add some value, let say, makes the item more "solid".

Rest in Peace

I received my 'Ancestor Moon Mask' today - the interesting thing is the coins on my order that were NOT included.
ie: Captain Canuck c/w Sign Cert - "Backordered" with no date of shipping offered.

Yes, but there are only 1500 signed certificates and since certificates are numbered, any certificate over #1500 with a signature is a forgery.

Excellent point raised, MonneyPenney!

It is possible, that the signed COAs have a various and random Serial Numbers, spreading in the whole #1-#3500 range.

The most desired (by some people) will be #1, and the number represents the first Captain Canuck comic, and the number of the year of the birth of the creator...

And the RCM never had 1500 out of 3500 COAs signed either.

We are at uncharted territory. There is a 1st time for everything.

The only way to know for certain whether COAs are signed within the 1 to 1500# range is when people start receiving the Captain Canuck coins.

No surprise here.
This is similar to sudden increase in number of laps in racing or distance for runners - the extra waiting time increases the bids.
At least for short time this will be good for the sellers and coin holders.
