I used to be a high school teacher. I sincerely hope some of the comments being made in this thread are being posted by someone still of a high school age, b/c ridiculous juvenile-like pride should be above the actions of adults, and normally is on this forum.

I know what generally makes most people act this way, and see it as sad those people normally don't see the bigger picture enough to question their own motives and to understand they are having exactly the opposite affect on people that they want and/or think they are having.

Its a hobby - people do what others think are irrational in a hobby b/c a hobby is about FUN. Not everyone has fun with the exact same things.

@ Earle42

My sentiments exactly. Some people just never grow up.

@Earle42 and @jimper

If this poster is a child, then it clearly needs love and compassion from a professional.

If this is an adult then there's likely a deeper psychological issue than just immaturity.

People like that you just have to ignore, and they'll go away. Obviously he needs a couple of to straighten him out.

If to collect smart, possible to get very neat set of the superheroes on the RCM coins. And Captain Canuck will have the lowest mintage plus signed certificate. Do you know him or not, but "collect 'em all" rule will work good for this coin, and people starting to get it, emptying the stock everywhere and increasing the demand.

Yes, but ignoring vs trying to help is in my nature from dealing with so many cases in kids over the years. For kids its excusable, but not acceptable, and mostly correctable. A lot of these kids like this actually are amazing once you can help them past the problem. Otherwise they continue in their own little world and it gets worse as they get older.

@silveroid
I can see where what you are saying also makes a lot of sense. People wanting a set of the superhero series would likely want any/all superhero coins made. We certainly are in the days of superheroes becoming more and more popular.

Now if only they would make an Underdog coin

@UFO
With or without crunchberries (my favorite)?

I actually believe that whomever is eating the cereal is looking solely for attention. Tis a sad life, when one needs to come onto a forum and spill the milk because mama may have dropped him on the head when he was a baby.

In the end we all get black and blue. This is my last post regarding the "cereal" instead I will be awaiting the arrival of my artist signed "serial" COA'S for Captain Canuck!!

This is a hobby and it should be fun to collect. Let the naysayers be. This is not a psychological forum for attention seekers.

The best thing is to IGNORE and I guarantee that this cereal cruncher will fall by the wayside.

Now onto the topic at hand 'CAPTAIN CANUCK" ......eh Canada!!!

Remember, and from this southerner:

Captain-Canuck-Coins

After spending time on this thread I have a feeling I am going to be sorry I did not get one of these. But finances at the moment would not allow.

Maybe have to wait for the Chinese fakes...never mind, I will do it to myself for that comment:

This coin is not for me but that's more than ok. I simply see these rectangular coins (the Canada flag, the playing cards etc.) as silver bars. But I truly hope those who collect it really enjoy it.

One thing puzzles me though. Why would the signature be a selling feature? I mean, who signed it? Is anyone associated with this theme 'famous' enough that their signature has value?

The Mint only sold the signature version for the first 1500 thus anyone that ordered the coin early got the signature version by default. It didn't really sell out because of demand for the signature per se, it sold out because they sold out of the first 1500 coins. I suspect that the Mint sells at least 1500 of nearly every 1oz ag coin they mint.

To me, this is no different than people chasing low COA numbers. Doesn't really have anything to do with the actual coin and the piece of paper is relatively easy to replicate and fake (even easier than the coin).

For me the artist signature on the COA is like signature of the artist on the painting.
While British Museum or Louvre or other famous place keep the signed paintings, the private collectors have not-signed, which valuable less...

I ordered this coin via internet, while thinking, that the signature is printed and I only heard about Captain Canuck without seeing single comic with him

Yesterday went with my kid to watch Infinity Wars (this is like Star Wars , but with the Superheroes instead of ninjas with light-swords), and I think, the Captain Canuck was there in the small episode, not sure though.
