I've been meaning to post this one for some time. It's my first and by far my favorite.

I ended up with two of the 500 elongated cents made for our recent coin show. My wife got one and so did I.
They were all made using a 1973 Lincoln Cent from a mint sewn bag.
( First year of the WANS coin club. )

This isn't from a coin club but from a London firm of coin auctioneers.

It's rather large as the original coin is a pre-decimal British penny!

Even if you don't reside in or are planning to visit the St. Louis area, this article is a good read:

One thing covered is why "The Pike Souvenir" from the 1904 World's Fair is so hard to find.

Went to Southend-on-Sea (a beach resort in Essex) today and found a machine at the pier that's not (yet) on pennycollector.com!

Southend has the longest pleasure pier in the world - one and one-third miles or just over two kilometres. It was built in the 19th century to provide access for pleasure steamers, as they could not moor closer to the town as the sea is very shallow for several hundred yards even at high tide. You can walk to the end of the pier or travel on a small railway. The pier head also serves as a lifeboat station.
