Do the reverses help to identify the host coins?

The reverse pics don't show much. I'll know more when in hand. The middle one should be an Indian cent and the other two, Lincoln cents.

This was sold on ebay earlier in the month. The host coin is an 1885 Morgan.

When we lived in The Netherlands, we got a couple elongated coins from the Sea Life aquarium in Scheveningen, a subdistrict of Den Haag on the coast of the North Sea. The host coin was a pre-euro 5 cent coin.

We lived just northeast of there in Wassenaar, and I loved cycling the bike paths through the beautiful coastal dunes between the two towns.

Jerry, I have an elongated cent from A Century of Progress International Exposition, also known as the Chicago World's Fair. Formerly it was a 1906 Indian Head cent, so there's no telling what yours might be.

Lucky Cuss, I just realized that your post was from a year ago. Do you recall the theme of the elongated Morgan?

Coinfrog, they're souvenirs for tourists. I remember making one once as a kid on vacation. It was like a vending machine but you could see the gears etc. on the inside. Insert a quarter and a cent, turn the crank on the side of the machine, and watch as you elongated your cent. Not sure how well zincolns would fare.

Hi Coinfrog and Hondo, Heres a quick video on the history. If you like threads like the counterstamps this is another great novelty series that would always have something interesting to find. Even pcgs started grading them https://www.pcgs.com/news/pcgs-now-...s-elongateds
