@USSID18 Wow - now I do! Thanks. Call me blind I guess. @Steinzor You might want to check at varietyvista.com in the Kennedy half book to try to match your DDO with one that is there. I know not every DDO known has pics listed yet, but there are some you could check yours with.

Earle42...Your 65 DDO looks like the CONECA listed 65 BS DDO-006. Attached are a couple of photos from my collection of the DDO-006 stage B, note the die scratches around WE and the 1st T of TRUST, also the doubling on TRUST, match your half dollar. Larry Nienaber

Very nice find Tootallious! That's one heck of a Curved Clipped Planchet. It's still nice even with the scratch on it. Earle42, that Kennedy half does have a Die Crack.

There is a minor DDO on the 1967 that has that hair strand doubled (if this is what you are looking at). Its hard to tell b/c of the darkening of the surface. That same DDO designation also is a DDR with notching on the stars on the REV. I have one of the coins I am talking about, but I was unable to get pics to show it. here is a pic of the doubling on the stars from a website:

Yes thank you the hair strand I thought was a DDO but also look at the pics of the banner above the eagle looks like the top of the s in pluribus got cut off and stamped over and up into the banner also the wing pic looks like either a die deteriorating or something made that curved little line in the wing were the wing is different

Quote:Yes thank you the hair strand I thought was a DDO Sorry if you know this, a DDO designation means the die the coin struck from was engraved with a double image. So a DDO is what the entire coin is called (not just some features). The list of 1967 DDOs can be found here: http://varietyvista.com/12%20Kenned...s%201967.htm Carfully check your coin's details against the picture on this site. Note each picture at that link represents just one picture from a set of that specific DDO. Look at the pics on the site for notches in the letters, some are very small, that appear on the corners and ends of serifs. Quote: looks like the top of the s in pluribus got cut off and stamped over and up into the banner This is impossible in the process of making a coin. The die hits the coin once to make an impression, and the total of the design on the die is pressed into the coin. Your S in PLURIBUS is OK. The banner itself took a hit, and small bit of its top was moved downward onto the banner. Quote: also the wing pic looks like either a die deteriorating or something made that curved little line in the wing were the wing is different The wing also looks like it just took a hit at sometime. It was circulated and over time the damage toned to be like the rest of the coin. I do not see the strong notching in the stars like in the pic I posted - but it might just be the lighting or lack of detail in your posted pic.

Earle42 is right. Your coin has some circulation wear, along with dings, and scratches.
