I've read that Liberty is stepping through a gate in the wall in defense of peace as her ultimate goal.

So maybe she needs to be called the Stepping Liberty Quarter?

Here is one explanation of the design of the SLQ. Taken from "The Beau-Arts Medal of America" by Barbara A. Baxter.

One of the first coins that I bought was a Standing Liberty quarter, which I, unknowingly at the time, cleaned it with a baking soda and water paste. I still have it...somewhere. Being a Type Collector, I of course have two;

Would you care to see a counterfeit?

I just noticed that the "dot" in E PLURBUIS UNUM and QUARTER DOLLAR were removed on the Type II reverse.

Is it an actual counterfeit? There are genuine replicas that are made to look like this (worn appearance). They're made in China and disclosed as being a replica/repro piece. I haven't seen one being passed off as the real thing, but maybe yours is different.

Counterfeit may not be the appropriate description, definitely a Chinese fake.

This one has a connection to the late J.H. Cline. Though it wasn't part of his personal collection, it was purchased by his wife/widow and later sold as part of the "Top Hat Collection." It has a light rose/pink champagne tone to it on both sides, and the pictures don't really do it justice.
