I've been going through a 5 gallon jug of coins and just found this. The 20016 & P are so faint that at certain angles they aren't even visible.

The fact that it traveled back in time makes this a one of a kind coin. $10,000,000 anyone? Lol

That was caused by heavily worn die ( Die Deterioration). This is very common and it doesn't carry any value over face value. This is part of normal wear and tear on the die. You can keep it if you want, but it's only worth face value

If only there was a snazzy coin website where you could post pics of your coins and get friendly and informative answers and immediate feedback.

Stick around CCF looking at the coins and posted discussion and within a week or two, you'll have a solid footing for answering your own numismatic questions.

Don't worry Spence. I wasn't being mean. I'm sorry if it sounded like that. That's not my intentions at all.

Oh sorry @E&V, I didn't think that at all about your reply and was actually just trying to suggest to @jvidal7443 to stick around CCF some. My bad!

It's all good. Sorry about that. I thought it was directed towards me. It was just miscommunication.

It's very common for 2015P and 2016P dimes to display heavy Die Deterioration on the obverse.
Is there any ' Die Deterioration Doubling' on the date? The doubled elements will look blurry and smeared.
