I wanted to know your take on coin cleaning, some say no, others say yes...
Ancient coins: I think its best if they are just soaked in destiled water and cleaned with a toothpick and/or with soft brush (only to remove the bigger chunks of clay)
Medievel coins: (i have no idea whatsoever)
*modern coins: I clean them with a 1 week bath in Olive oil, then distiled water bath, then a litle bit of soap and a soft brush (might try electrolysis or baking soda)
Give me your honest opinions, I have received a ton of silver and copper coins all full of oxidation, and the silver ones with black spots, I dont know what to do since there are such diferent opinions (can I clean them with baking soda?)
Also I have some roman coins covered in clay (should I buy proper tools or a toothpick does the trick?
Thanks,Daniel
