Hello.
Is the letter B in Liberty punched by a cracked die? Is that a tall N or a short I in "IN"? What are the hairlines between O and D and under WE?
Thanks

junjie

None of it has anything to do with the die used to strike the obverse. The B took a hit from something and was split and the N of IN also took a hit spreading the metal towards the rim- just post mint damage.

Hi biokemist6,
Thank you for your feedback. Here are some more photos of the "Bs" and the "Is". It looks like there was a problem with die specifically on the letter B. The attached images show that for the years 1961, 64, & 66 some Bs looked more like number 8. There are also not post mint damages on the Is. I have included a 1968 cent with normal B and I for comparison.
