I'm fairly new to coin collection and even more new to error coins so any help will be greatly appreciated. Is this a strike through grease error? If so, is it worth more than face value?

to CCF. It is struck through a thin layer of grease or oil. Little if any premium.

Thank you for your help:) Either way I think it's an interesting coin. Good teaching lesson for me and my kids.

I'm leaning towards oil on just the fields with a bit of grit in the oil. No filled devices. Just on the fields. (Grease has a tends to move over into the die devices and hang out there, blocking the devices. Perhaps the machine was just oiled and a few drops fell onto the die.
