Hi there I found a 2011 D quarter in my piggy bank on the quarter In God We Trust is missing the E and the I is slightly faded

Called a " Greaser".
Grease got in the letters on the
die and when the coin was struck,
the planchet could not get in the
cavity to form the letters.
Not uncommon and with this being
minor, there is no premium but
worth keeping if you want to collect
error coins.

It was Struck Through Grease (AKA Grease Filled Die). Although, your example would command no premium, since it's too minor. http://www.error-ref.com/struck-thr...-grease-oil/
