Note what it saws about this RPM:

Quote:
Large date. The most difficult 1960D repunched mintmark to obtain, known only in EDS and MDS. Two small hooks protrude from the northwest corner of the mintmark.

Has anyone noticed the prices on this die? I know I paid a lot back in the day for it. Someone was selling slabbed examples on ebay and I asked if he had one that was not slabbed. Got a better price that way.
But did any note what die states there were in?

Quote:
known only in EDS and MDS.

That makes it sound like the die was retired. But I', betting they were polished and the RPM went away. That was probably what really happened to this die. So you think all 1960-D RPMs are inexpensive? Not now you don't. But to me the 1960D-1MM-011 is harder to get. More collectors do not have this one, than do. But thought I would give you a heads up on this one. (probably some have seen it and didn't know what it was?

Thanks coop, I was not aware of the scarcity of this RPM. I'll be starting my huntdown today, several LD 1960-D's in my possession need to re-visit.

I can't remember if I have found any of these as I have tubes and tubes and tubes of 1960 D unattributed rpms. Now I have to look. And all the 1960 D I didn't find anything on I set in a box. Thanks for the info

Glad to help out. The hobby only grows if more are interested in it. I really enjoy helping, but what means more to me is the growth of our coin family her. All are learning, sharing, or just being a friend to help others here. That's the wat it should be and is here.
