This is where I can't get it right. Do Fat, flattened out devices as they are in the word Liberty on this coin indicate a DDO?

Nope, not a Doubled Die. It's a normal coin.

I think you are seeing some Die Deterioration Doubling. It is normal die wear and adds no value.

I'm fairly certain Wexler has all known 2009 DDOs notated on his site..
Best place I know of to check for comparison purposes..
