These two off-center struck coins came in today. A 1978P dime with about a 12% offset and a 1998D Nickel with @37% offset. I had a lesser nickel example but no dime in the error stable, now just need a Half(big bucks tho ) Both these at least have the date, a bit more value to them. *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

Very nice snags and congratulations! Those are great buys! The funny thing is at first, I thought you were referring to damaged coins on ebay and not actual errors.
Errers and Varietys.

I don't see how they could fit in a roll. John1

To answer JayR, no, generally not CRH since coin is out of round. They are sometimes found in mint sealed distribution bags of 10,000.

Good score Crazyb0. Nice to be able to read the dates. I have an offset Lincoln but it's the wrong way and I can't see the date. Never seen an offset half.

Very nice Butch! I always thought these types of off-center strikes and clips would look cool in a Dansco. But I guess the pages would have to be fabricated or customized.

Looks like die deteriation doubling not a doubled die. Ha, great pickups crazybo. How do these things make it through to Looms and the other contracted armored car services. I would love to have a couple bags hoarded. I did get offered a $50.00 Chase sealed thick plastic bag of cents by a tellor once and once only. Can we order bags of nickles from banks that would be the way to go.

I have four errors similar to these, brought back from Long Beach many years ago, by a coin dealer friend of mine. He brought back about 200 of them for stock inventory, and I paid only a few (less than $10 each), for the examples that I have.
These days, I would think they would be valued for considerably more than what I paid for them, but I haven't bothered to keep track of the pricing.
