Except...is it DDDDie Deterioration OR MD Mechanical Doubling? Remember that Die Deterioration follows the flow of metal OUTWARDS as dies age, NOT inwards toward the center. OP's pic is rotated 90 degrees CW, therefore the appearance of a shelf-like Strike Doubling becomes obvious that it is indeed MD.
First off, OP didn't show complete coin, this may have shown other areas affected as well. Even if no other area had MD, this still would be, for the simple reason RPM's ended in 1992 with the advent of the single-squeeze presses and the hub design manufacture.
