The first picture in the article has a chart with it for the selling subscription and final value fees. It's not really clear if any additional fees will apply, but from the chart in the picture it's pretty close to a carbon copy of the ebay store fee except you get fewer listings for the 20 dollar level than you do on ebay.




The more successful ones there are the better off buyers and sellers are. It gives everyone more avenues to sell and helps slow down fee increases if a successful one doesn't go along with someone else's price raise.

It would be nice if this one could be a real viable alternative to ebay which we are lacking at the moment, but obviously that will be a big uphill battle.

The fee structure is quite similar to ebay, but ebay already has a massive following... I'm not sure who would be able to justify paying similar rates (especially the monthly fees!) for a new venue?

The fees aren't so much the issue with ebay. It's EVERYTHING else. They're totally anti-seller, for starters. You have to use PayPal. It's VERY VERY restrictive in terms of flexibility now. It wasn't way back when Meg Whitman owned it.

Reading the details of it, can't say I'm too impressed. It seems tilted towards the buyers. This here sets up the possibility of all sorts of buyer fraud.

"Amos Media collects the funds and the seller receives the money once the buyer has received and accepted the product. The buyer has up to seven days to accept the delivered product."

Additionally, no mention is made regarding disputes - i.e.: would the seller be responsible for paying shipping costs (both ways) on a returned item?

It also highlights "Buyer Protection," but makes no mention of "Seller Protection."

Lastly, it appears that items will be forced to be shipped with some sort of tracking, meaning items in the $5 and under range or so are going to be discouraged from being offered.

Sounds interesting. I will definitely window shop just to see what is available, but who knows if I will actually buy something there (it was years before I bought anything on ebay).

I will be optimistic though. The hobby needs a good win.

Actually ANACS was pretty well respected when it was owned and run by Amos.

Thanks for the update. The site looks pretty good but so many coins are miscategorized (there's a bust half dollar among the Half Cents; their "gold dollars" section includes the incuse and $10 Indian designs). Didn't do a price comparison but the inventory looks pretty broad already. I've bookmarked it for later reference.
