Okay everyone I am looking at this 2001 D Vermont quarter and I am having trouble deciding what my findings are here. I have only been hunting coins for about a week now so bare with me while I learn if you would.

Nope, not a Doubled Die Obverse. It's Die Deterioration, caused by a worn die. The die was in a Very Late Die State when your coin was struck. It's a worn die issue. http://www.error-ref.com/die-deteri...on-doubling/

All I see is Machine Doubling.

E&V - I respectfully disagree with you that this is DDD. Usually DDD appears to be "doubled" towards the rims. This one also has flat shelflike doubling. I think this one is MD.
