The new effigy on all Australian coinage will begin in 2019.

The face and hair seems more accurate, but I think I like it better without the shoulders.

I've read elsewhere that The Royal Mint is not permitting the use of the couped (no shoulders) version of the Jody Clark effigy by other mints, for security.

I am not crazy about the shoulders either, but...it's a nice design. I like the hair detail in the 1998 design better.

Odd man out here I guess - the more I look at the design the more I like the shoulders being added.

I don't mind the shoulders being shown and the updated portrait,
but what is going on with her earlobe?
Looks like those earrings are pulling it down.

I think it's the worst design so far - getting rid of the shoulders would be a good start but it still looks way too cartoony.
