The new 5 dollar note was released back in 2016 and 10 dollar just last year. I am somewhat surprised to see that the older notes have essentially disappeared from circulation. Is this is the same where you are at?

No sure what topic on this forum, but someone sugguested that the banks are removing them from circulation. However I also notice that the new notes are way more creaseable then the older notes. Should be fun to find out that these newer note are going to be less durable than the older notes

I also noticed that any old notes that you do see usally are in very good condition.

According to the Reserve Bank:

"The $5 note, for example, was released in September 2016 [and] it only just reached 55 per cent saturation. That suggests in some regions, some particular operators make a decision not to upgrade their machines until saturation levels and customer usage is such that it warrants them."

The old ones are certainly in the minority but haven't disappeared completely.
The new ones do seem to be more creased though.
