Ok, so found these coins and wanted to see what people think ! Possibly DD or MD ? Also, would the 70 S be considered large date ? On the 1998 is it possible to have a DDO and DDR? I'm here to learn and sometimes they can get confusing from MD DD too me. Please no rude comments, I'm just getting started with errors.

70-S Large Date with MD. 85-D Dime may be Die Deterioration (I may be wrong on that one though) 98-D Dime is also MD ( Machine Doubling). Good eye though for noticing them!

Here is a pair of images you can save to ID, small date 1970-S cents. A lot of things tell us which are which.

Here is where to start. Save the image and you can have it for your educational files.

Thanks! Shoot, thought I found me a good one with the 70. Hah. These were completely different than the others I found that they say are MD too. That's why I get confused. Even with my error coin books with images. Some of my coins show same type of doubling. Than I'm told they're MD. Besides the whole 1955 DD Lincoln an others were you can clearly see numerous doubles. Is there any websites or info that you could give me to help me better distinguish between the two ? I always get nervous to post, because some people aren't so nice on here and can be completely rude too those of us trying to learn. Thanks again.

It's Machine Doubling, not a doubled die.

Ok, so I found some articles someone posted on DD an MD. So I think I've figured it out. With MD the doubling is flat and shelf like and the DD doubling is rounded at edges/sides and not flat/squared. Is this right ? Or did that makes since ?
