While roll searching I came across this very nice looking 1957 D nickel. Since I am still learning to grade I thought I would use the board to help me out. To my eye this coin looks like it would grade AU50. Your opinions are welcome and would help me greatly.

It's hard to tell with the pics provided but - I'd say the obverse is EF at least and the reverse looks VF at best.

If I had to grade from those photos only, she'd go EF-40.

I'm no expert at grading Jeffs, but that one is definitely higher than EF-40. I'll say AU-50. -PP

Hmm. Yeah, the pictures..... (:

The coin obviously still has some luster (top of Jeffies head and bottom of reverse and maybe more). But looks like there's some wear or it's a pretty weak strike. I'd say AU - really nice to find one in that shape that old in circulation. Unfortunately, it's not worth that much, but as the commercial goes - to find one in circulation --> Priceless !!

Nice find!

I have a hard enough time grading them in hand, let along with photos! I will only be guessing, but I say High EF or Low AU. I agree with KL that there is either some wear or it is a weak strike.
