In need of some second opinions and / or expertise. Have been studying this quarter (found in circulation) for months now and I'm almost certain it might be the 1970 S proof on 1941 Canadian Coin error! Please let me know if you see it too!   *** Edited by Staff to crop and/or rotate images. Please crop and correctly orient images before uploading.  Sorry, it's not a proof, not an S-Mint and not struck on a foreign planchet. It's a normal CuNi-clad quarter with normal wear. In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

@damaddhatta, first welcome to CCF. Second, while I agree with @spruette and @john1 that I don't see anything unusual about this quarter, perhaps you could add arrows or a better description to what you are seeing? For example, what parts of the '41 design are still present?

one look at the edge would be easy enough as the Canadian quarter would have been 80% silver and not clad so the edge would be white. I don't see anything resembling the caribou or KGVI.
Lastley I would highly doubt some one would have a pocket full of Canadian silver quarters from 1941 that just happened to be on tour at the San Fran Mint, and happened to get into the production line and be able to toss said hand full of silver coins onto the conveyer.
I know there is the one out there, but most people agree it was a " manufactured" error not a true production error.

I have posted a photo of the infamous 79 over 41 quarter. On it you can see the clearly see the wording and outline of King George on the US quarter. I do not see anything like this on your coin.  |

To CCF! I'm sorry, but you don't have it. This error happened on the 1970 S Proof Strike only. You have a normal, heavily circulated and worn 1970 Philadelphia Quarter (yours is a business strike). Errers and Varietys.

Same coin, increase in contrast. @spence thanks for your further inquiry as I'm curious if I'm the only one who sees shapes and lines differing from that of an average quarter. Hard to make out with naked eye. However, I have many more pics if interested.  |

I don't see anything. Like they said, it isn't even a proof. Modern proofs have an S mint mark.

I'm not trying to be stubborn or discredit any replys, I appreciate the time you've all taken to respond. All I'm asking, is take a little more time. Look a little closer, even if it's not the 1941 cent am I crazy in saying there are many markings and lines that don't belong? Is there no explanation for them? Something to keep in mind is the fact that this was found in circulation. All examples of the coin are mint, any damage could be obscurring to marking.

I looked very carefully. You do not have it. This error only happened on the 1970 S Proof Strike Quarter only. You have a normal Business Strike Quarter, meant for circulation. It might not be the answer you wanted to get, but this is correct.
