Hello everyone!

Any ideas what this coin might be?

Diameter is 24mm, weight is 0,85 grams.

Thank you!

Four heads in a cruciate formation? Below is a link to the only one that I can think of right away, but it is not your coin. As this piece is uniface, I'll look at my Bonhoff later today and let you know if I find anything.

Ok it isn't in Bonhoff, but I still really feel that it seems more Germanic than anything else due to the design and the fact that it is uniface. Of course, I certainly could be wrong and would be super-happy if someone else found you an attribution. By the way, I also checked my Spink and I'm quite sure that it isn't Anglo-Saxon, from 600 AD and later.

I'm stumped.

Added: @Virghil, maybe you can give us some history about this coin? For example, did you purchase it from a dealer in Romania? Was it sold to you as being Anglo-Saxon?

The cross ghosts through because the flan is thin but I don't think it's uniface. A sharper image of the second side would be very helpful.

Very good point.

There appears to be a beaded ring reverse (inside where the obv ring shows through). The knots atop the headdresess obv are not showing on reverse, etc.

I think it will be hard to reconstruct what the reverse image might be given the disruptions from that cross design ... But if anyone can figure it out it's some of the experts who have already chimed in here!
