the hits just keep coming. tonight's effort produced $2.30, beginning with: i wrangled a wild buck while I waited for Karma to materialize, and she did, about a minute after I took the picture. since a buck was the first thing I found, I relaxed on some parts of the route, but as I went along I picked thirty well-scattered cents, and when I arrived at my favorite ice machine I discovered: a Presidential dollar coin in the coin return, another Ebenezer Scrooge Martin Van Buren. finding a dollar bill and a dollar coin on the same night is a real rarity. last time it happened: May 18, 2023.

i can't explain it. after a very lackluster and below-average May, June has turned out to be very above-average so far. tonight I was nearing the end of the route, a little grumbly, riding around with a meager thirty-eight cents in my pocket-- three dimes and eight zincolns-- when I cut into a darkened parking lot and spotted right away four silvery disks gleaming on the blacktop: three coins in the lower right corner are easy to see-- two quarters and a dime-- and there's a nickel in the upper left corner... sixty-five cents... I picked it & went home. $1.03 on the night. even better: one of the dimes I picked tonight--- a slightly roadrashed 1959-D silver Roosevelt dime.

yep.. despite the road rash it's still a collectible coin... that someone else discarded... it's the 3rd silver dime I've picked off the ground in 6-1/2 years.
