interesting goodies tonight.  that's tonight's haul, pictured with my 2012 ASE pocket piece. a keen eye is going to notice a couple things right away: 1) most of the coins in that pile are seriously road-rashed. i was on my way to the next several search areas prior to finding & feeding the last batch of kitties; with the wind at my back I was quickly coasting into a right turn through an intersection when I saw an almost blurred scattering of coins in the middle of the street. I came to a fast stop & backed up... sure enough, a long scattering of coins on the asphalt, so I parked my bike up on the sidewalk, checked for traffic & 'watchers' in all directions... no one around & no cars, so I walked over for a closer look. I could see that much of it was road-rashed zincolns, but I saw a lot of road-rashed dimes, too, so I nabbed a quick picture and got to pickin'... 1:49am, no traffic, thankfully. I lost count as I was pickin', but I estimate that I picked around $1.60 out of the street:  2) there's a Mercury dime in the picture. at 1:58am, nine minutes after pickin' all those coins from the street, I found a 1943 mercury dime- drilled, with a tiny metal loop through the hole- in the moped parking area in front of the Dollar Store as I was riding through. someone lost that earlier in the day and thankfully I found it before it got destroyed by road-rash. the drilled hole in it is quite enough damage:  tonight's well-scattered change included no quarters, yet I ended up with $2.25, which punched the cycle's running total well past the $280-mark.  13 weeks until Black Friday. Quote:that Mercury dime is ready to go on your keychain! it could still end up on a keychain, but not mine. i'll aim for finding someone to pass that along to... gift someone the way I was just gifted. that parking lot is a gift. the parking lot that I found that dime in is large. it's a big shopping plaza, with a publix, office max, dollar store, and more than a dozen other small businesses and shops all around. it also used to have a K-mart. I have found a lot of money, collectible coins and useable stuff over the years in that big parking lot, moreso than any of the others. it's really astounding. |

So what's for lunch Helder? I made Shrimp Parm on Saturday, so I had 4 left over shrimp and I warm them up. Toasted a 1/4 of a baguette. Added a few basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil. Made a shrimp parm sandwich, opened up a can of seltzer water and then I made an espresso. It was a really good lunch. Elizabeth and I only had a late lunch yesterday after the beach, so I was hungry for lunch. Working from home rocks! If I had to pay for this sandwich, I couldn't buy coins.  |

nice, helder! good score! don't let them sit on the pile for too long, they lose value by the day.
this just reminded me of stuff I was going to babble at you earlier today. i'll come back around to it eventually.
