Not quite in the Mr Pink league, but I was cycling to the shops this afternoon when I saw some coins by a tree on the sidewalk. I stopped and scooped them up. 23 coins totalling 29 pence, all in 1p and 2p pieces. Nothing rare, but then there are very few rare 1p and 2p coins, and the oldest in circulation only go back to 1971.

NumisRob, that is an excellent find.. as helder & I continuously say to one another, "It all adds up". last night I found $1.95 in well-scattered change, including this ninety-seven cents that someone left at an air-vac: when I emptied my pocket later: that old wheatie just sticks out, doesn't it? that ASE is my pocket-piece-in-training. I'm close to being potentially finished with this cycle. I'm about a dollar away from my target amount, I could hit it tonight... or I could just keep on finding & saving for a while longer.. I haven't made up my mind..

I just found this thread the other day. MrPink2018, you are an inspiration for me! I usually find about $20-$25 a month on sidewalks and in vending machine change slots where I'm at (on and near a university campus in Wisconsin). I often dream of finding daily hauls as big as some of yours. Happy money hunting to both of us!

I found $2.28 today: 8 quarters, 2 dimes, 1 nickel, and 3 cents. My best day of the semester so far! $1.25 in the same row of vending machines certainly helped.

Well I can say I got close to finding money one day with my wife in the car while I was driving. I was driving up to the light when I got a red light. Stopped the car and ten seconds later a Brinks truck went from left to right thru the light. I looked at the truck and the back doors were open and swinging back and forth. I turned right and followed the truck and I started blowing the horn because I could see sacks of money sitting by the doors on the floor. One of the guys in the truck was looking at me while I was blowing the horn. Finally he saw, duh, the back doors were open and that's why I was blowing the horn. They finally pulled to the side of the road to close the doors. The guy asked me if I saw anything drop and I said no and they thanked me. After our conversation I turned the car around to back track and go back the way they came. I was driving for about two miles and I started to shake while I was driving. In front of me was a big bag laying on the side of the road. All I could imagine was just pulling the car over to the side of the road and park the car over the bag and getting out and put the hood up like I had car trouble. Then I could shut off the car and reach down in the engine and try and grab the bag without anyone knowing better. Well this whole time about me being weathy just turned out to be a good story to tell my kids when I got back home. The canvas bag on the side of the road must of been one of those sand bags the construction companies put on road signs to weight them down from tipping over. I must say that is the most my heart has ever pumped in all my years. Well I didn't get rich but had a good laugh and a story to tell. Thanks for listening.
