A damaged, road-rashed Wheat cent is still a Wheat cent though!!

My new job (building maintenance) is really strict about not stealing stuff, which includes random change found on the floor because apparently taking 10 cents when there's no way to tell whose it was is the end of the world...I still pawed out a total of 33 cents today while nobody was looking. ;) For example, I was installing an air conditioner in a room and noticed a quarter on the floor; I was the only person in the room and there were no cameras, so I just pocketed it.

Walking to Brighton train station yesterday after doing a guided tour for some German students, I spotted a shiny penny on the road. I picked it up and gave it to a woman who was begging just by the station entrance, reckoning she needed it more than me! I was surprised to find any kind of coin in Brighton, as apart from the amusement arcades on the beach, practically everywhere seems to have gone digital these days!

a Presidential dollar coin (a slightly roadrashed washington), and $1.89 in well-scattered change, among it a 1957-D jeffie

it hasn't been particularly lucrative the past couple weeks, but I keep finding & saving bits of change.. last night I found only sixty-three cents, among it this little heartbreaker:

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

it'd be a decent 95-year-old coin if not for the road rash

and these were the most interesting things I found during May:

nearing the $90 mark for the current cycle...

Kids in my rural area don't even pick up pound coins these days!

I was waiting for my bus and there was a bunch of school kids waiting as well.

I pointed out there was money on the ground, thinking one if them may have dropped it.

They ignored me and the money and boarded their bus when it came in.

I picked up the money: a pound coin plus assorted change total £2.53, which I put in a charity box when I got off my bus.
