Quote: More of an "alchemy not required" process. exactamundo! DiscoLover82, I know of what you speak. I find more zincolns than anything else. last week's total for me was $6.77, with $3.31 of that found friday & saturday. I don't have to paint on the weekends (yet), so I can put time into the full route on weekend nights. my finds throughout the weeknights are limited. I found nothing on sunday, fifty cents last night, and as I was walking home this evening I spied two gleaming discs at the roadside: a quarter & nickel, so I have a thirty-cent jump on tonight, lol, but I don't expect to find too much.. if I find all the cats healthy & ready for their meal, i'll go home happy, whether I find any $ or not.. my running total approaches the $200-mark I've gone well-past the target amount, and as I knock out the paint job I get closer to that payday, with weeks & weeks of more painting lined up behind it.. those upcoming paint jobs will allow me to revert back to my usual schedule & nightly hunt... good stuff is coming...

I found 55 cents and 5 peso from the Philippines in addition to a 5 pence coin , Sunday was my best day in a while. I have also been in a decluttering mode and I've put up some stuff that I haven't used in a while for sale. I had a 20 year old Swiss watch that I stopped using over 7 years ago, which I recently put for sale. I had a local dealer offer me a price which we agreed on and then he lowered his offer. I walked away and listed the watch on ebay (getting almost $500 more than he offered) and it sold in 2 minutes after I listed it. ebay took a chunk but I ended up making $300 more than the dealers offer. After everything was done I picked up some gold. Not bad for an old watch I didn't use for a while. There was enough left over that I picked up a few more goodies.

Quote: I found 55 cents and 5 peso from the Philippines in addition to a 5 pence coin helder, do you play the daily four? is the universe telling you to play 5555? nice gold. gold is great. I am overdue for some Au. i ended up finding forty-one cents tonight, the slow crawl to $200... tonight I found three times more nickels than zincolns-- 3 nickels, 1 zincoln and a quarter.... as I wait to get my gold, I'm now finding & saving-up for a silver something dated 2023, after that i'll aim to nab another silver something but dated 2018, which'll probably take most of the rest of the year to find.. by that time i'll start watching for & thinking about something dated 2024...

Quote: I had a local dealer offer me a price which we agreed on and then he lowered his offer I absolutely despise dealers that pull that crap! Glad you made more selling your watch on ebay than you would have made from the "crawfishing" dealer! Dealers can be real weasels sometimes! It always nice to sell off stuff you no longer want and then pick up stuff you do want! That's a win-win!

Quote:Great find on the 1956 Roosevelt dime DiscoLover82! I was pretty psyched to say the least. I held the dime in my hand and said "HOLY %#@!" probably 5-6 times as I mentally processed the fact that after all these years of finding so many dimes in circulation and never finding any silver ones, my efforts had finally paid off. That dime helped me get some high-fives from acquaintances and even strangers as I explained its significance. One girl I was talking to even had a coin story of her own: she had thought she'd had a super-rare quarter (she didn't remember exact date and mintmark, just that it was from the 1930s or 40s); as it turned out, this one wasn't especially rare, but she said if it had been ten years older, it would have been worthy of selling at auction. I wonder if she still has the quarter!

I was downtown a few weeks ago sitting on a bench on the street waiting to meet a friend for some drinks. A guy approached me and begged some money from me. I gave him $10. He took off. My friend arrived and we started walking towards the bar. I looked down, and there was a $10 bill. I picked it up. I was "even".
