What I see is Die Deterioration Doubling, not a doubled die.

Looks like the die was over polished. Looks like a halo around the head where the die polishing lowered the fields. When this over polishing happened it weaken the Liberty and Motto as well. seems like were see a lot of the 2015 forward dies.
