Hello. Yesterday I was able to find 3 half dollars. 2 of them were 1967, and one of them 1966. One of the 2 1967 half's was much brighter than the other 2. Which had me curious as I'm new to coin collecting. So I weighed the brighter of the 2 1967s. It weighed 11.6. The other 2 coins weighed 11.3. Upon further inspection I noticed some strange markings and was needing a little info. please see attached photos. It almost looks as if something was stamped previously and then polished off on the Reverse right side like numbers. Also on the reverse left side it looks like stars were there or some pitting. Let me know your thoughts.
I also think it is contact from a reeded edge rolling across the coin. They can leave some interesting marks, for example the "sine wave" marks on this 1949 half.
Rim hits by the Eagle's Wing, from another coin is considered damage,it happens during bagging and hauling.Top picture is also a contact mark, it so happened to leave markings in that form.
