Attached are pictures of known1964 SMS LMC and the identification markers used.

I found a picture posted by Coop on another topic and this picture he talks about Stylobites and how they are indicators of EDS. The picture he uses is the reverse of a 1964 SMS LMC. The arrows show what he is explaining. Other pictures are from PCGS and Heritage auctions showing die markers used for identification.

I have added arrows on my pictures to show the Stylobites that coop describes in his picture. Also, my pictures show the known die markers used for identification.

I will be sending this in. I traveled to a PCGS dealer yesterday and to my surprise they had never even heard of the 64 sms and refused to look at it to confirm the markers. Not sure why but I will never go there again. Especially after the worker opened up some of my flips and grabbed uncirculated pennies with her bare fingers and manhandled it.... left finger prints all over spotless coins...

So here are the similarities I see between my coin and the 64 sms.

I made copies of the pictures for reference and hope to use it if I ever get so lucky.

I will say it is hard on the eyes looking at the die markers.

Thanks for posting pics and
Good luck on your submission.

The lathe lines and the die scratches in the second and fourth bay definitely match, very convincing. These close-ups really help see the similarities. I didn't notice those scratches in the bays were on both your coin and the coin from heritage auctions in the last thread.

It seems this is very likely the same reverse die used to strike the SMS coins. A lot of us are skeptical because of how unlikely it is to be a SMS, but it seems there is more evidence to prove it to be an SMS than there is to disprove it.

Definitely try authenticating with a TPG, and let us know the results.

Yes PCGS has graded them. The coin dealer I went to was a PCGS dealer. It was a real shame. I drove 2 hours to just get some clarification on this coin and have a lot of high grade coins checked out. Huge waste of time. They looked at me as if was crazy for talking about a 64 SMS. I had a 64 proof with me to compare. Guy proceeded to tell me he can buy a roll of proofs for 5 bucks...... haha. Wow. I was dumbfounded at the level of service I received.

Most coin shops have little interest in coin varieties. They are just selling coins. So the one that appear like they don't know what they are talking about, are the ones I check out their BU coins in 2X2's. Most of the time they are just selling coins and a person with variety interest will find a lot of varieties they missed. I buy them and just pretend they are normal BU coins. They are there just to sell coins. Same way with the 1956-1964 Type 'B' quarters. They don't know the differences. So snag those as well.
