I just got a phone call from a longtime, dealer buddy who's been driving to the Baltimore Show today. His wallet was lost or stolen on the way. He just cancelled all his credit cards. Hopefully, a Good Samaritan will find and return his wallet.
The kicker for me was that he picked up the below token from me this morning. He tucked it in his wallet for safe keeping!
I thought it might be a good idea to post pics of the token here, that I could confirm ownership, and it might possibly be recovered. It's a Seneca Falls Civil War token, struck in copper, NY 845 A-1a. It's virtually full red and raw. There are tinges of brown on the eagle and a distinctive carbon spot on the first E in "sEneca." I've only seen a few of these in over forty years of collecting CWT's. A comparable piece sold for over $1,500 about six years ago.
Thanks, everyone, for your concern. My buddy cancelled his credit cards and and reactivated them when the wallet was returned. The token's since been sold.
