Need Help Iding 2 Indian Western Kshatrapas Drachms

Archraz Pillar of the Community United States 3499 Posts	Posted 04/04/2019 12:37 am I just picked up these two Western Kshatrapas Drachms. They both definitely seem authentic. However, I am having some trouble reading the date on the obverse. I really am not certain as to the date and king for the first coin. But the second may be King Vusvasena and dated SE219 (297CE). In fact, I wonder if his coins portray a man with Down's syndrome or a similar affliction - he was the first Kshatrapa who died without producing or naming an heir. Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 04/05/2019 8:56 pm The Visvasena date is 220-something; the last digit is off the flan. That would place it at late 290s or early 300s. It's actually fairly uncommon to be able to read a full date on these coins; only Bhartradaman seems to consistently have the digits fully visible.
