Thanks @CelticKnot, I only buy what I can afford tbh & spend quite a bit of time looking for notes which interest me, much to my wife's annoyance. Honestly don't believe I have spent more than £10 on a banknote for my wee collection.

I, too, do not spend heavily on my world notes collection, but like you grab ones that appeal to my eye at a good price. I might have one or two that I've spent over $10USD on and those would only be to complete a series such as the Zimbabwe hyperinflation notes. I usually buy a big batch at once from one of those ebay sellers and hand pick a mix of polymers, old notes, new notes, interesting notes, etc. It is a fun, inexpensive way to learn more about this big world we live in. Keep 'em coming!!

Josip Broz Tito 1892-1980, Yugoslav communist revolutionary, statesman & leader of the Partisan Resistance during WWII. Viewed by some as an authoritarian leader & by others as a popular benevolent dictator, also said to have participated in the Bolshevik movement during the Russian Revolution of 1917.

Bai Bureh 1840-1908, tribal leader & warrior who led an uprising against British rule in Sierra Leone. Bureh objected to a 'hut tax' being imposed on Sierra Leoneans by the British in order to pay for the building of roads, towns, rail infrastructure etc. After the British Governor offered a reward of one hundred pounds for his capture, Bureh responded by offering 500 pounds for the Governor's capture. When finally captured, Bureh was exiled to Ghana, returning to Sierra Leone in 1905. His tactics, and using knowledge of local terrain against the British are thought to be the forerunner used by guerrilla armies worldwide.

Thanks jbuck Kapitan Pattimura 1783-1817, regarded as National Hero of Indonesia, he joined the British Army shortly after they took the Makuku Islands from Dutch colonials. After the signing of an Anglo-Dutch treaty in 1814, the Makuku Islands were returned to the Dutch & Pattimura wasn't pleased, leading a rebellion against the Dutch in 1817. He was subsequently betrayed and sentenced to death by hanging in 1817. There is a University of Pattimura, a National Holiday 15th May, Pattimura Airport & many streets in the Indonesian Archipelago bear his name.
