It is not uncommon to see Grease Filled Dies where only a small part of the design disappears, I have a set of Two Cent Pieces missing various letters in "CENTS" on the reverse and a few missing or barely there numerals in the date, I still like them but don't pay too much of a premium when buying them, they are technically error coins, though not in any real demand to error collectors. I see Grease Filled Dies more often on Longacre designed coins than I do on other pre 1933 coins.
