We've all done a lot of talking. Now I would like to see who's the first person to successfully order a bag! Anyone up for the challenge?

Quote: I wasn't talking too you! I know, but I had to take the opportunity to be funny! Quote: Seriously though... I should have been clear I was commenting on a previous post talking about the bags as though they were circulated coin. Insinuating that silver may actually be found. Unless the silver fell in the bags at the mint, it's not there. I should have said this the first time, but

Ive already tried at several banks, and have tried at the bank that I work at. Another fellow roll searcher that is a customer at the bank I work at told me that he did indeed order a bag one time and that all he found was one 40%, he told me he never bothered to order them again because of the hassle and lack of silver. He did say that he would print out the nessesary forms to give to my head teller to order them, so I'm making some headway.

Great posts, I will try a little later in the year, I'm taking a trip to NYC in Dec. Hopefully, someone here can get one before then!

I travel a lot for work. I will try banks in different cities and see what happens. Some bank, somewhere, has to have them!

I called one of the armored car services this morning. There are three that I know of in my area. The man I talked to said he had Ike dollars on hand, that they came in $1000 bags, and that they were circulated. From what he said, no one orders them, and if he had his way, would send them all back to the Federal Branch. Now all I have to do is convince one of the two banks I get rolls from to order a bag. We'll see.

I'm pretty friendly with the people at one of my branches......but the last time I brought halves in, the manager gave me a scowl !! I don't expect she'd like to order Ikes for me, let me go through them, and then take her back the whole pile !.... ......nor would the other "branches" like them either I assume....
